Meet The Pack
My name is Amaya Peterson. I have always had a connection with animals my passion with animals started at a young age, consistently owning a pet of some sort learning everything I could about the animal and doing everything to better the life of the animal. My interest in animal behavior originated in my early years of working with horses, specifically riding, training, and breaking them subsequently, I expanded my expertise into Reiki energetic healing for animals, practicing on dogs, cats, horses, small mammals, and more. Reiki became another profound passion, leading me to become a certified Reiki Master. Soon after, I acquired my first dog and trained him to be my service dog, thereby initiating my passion for dog training and canine behavior. After training my own dog, I decided to pursue a career in dog training. I worked at several dog training facilities under the guidance of Arizona’s top mentors, where I learned various methods, worked with a range of behaviors, and gained insight into the business aspects of the industry. I was inspired to establish Copper State Canine Solutions, with the intention of educating, empowering, and guiding owners to enhance their quality of life with their dog one canine at a time!
Holden is the face of our company and holds a special place in my heart as my first dog. As a novice dog owner, mistakes were bound to happen, but Holden has been instrumental in helping me understand behavior specific to working breeds, reactivity, dog selection, and more. With his own reactivity overcome, Holden now assist us in working with reactive dogs, serving as a testament to the effectiveness of our training and an inspiration to other canine companions.
As our resident social butterflies, Roxie and Joanne play a crucial role in helping dogs overcome challenges, including working around distractions, socializing, and reassuring fearful dogs that life is not frightening.
Lyla, our feline associate, plays a significant part in distracting dogs exhibiting strong prey drive, contributing to the impulse control training of such dogs, and assisting owners with the process of socializing their dogs to cats.
